Export prices were unchanged over the week of April 30-May 6, 2016, compared to the previous week. Prices were firm at high levels possibly due to the support of the border trade demand from China.

On April 29, Taiwan published the first 2016 U.S. rice Country Specific Quota (CSQ) normal tender for 1,000 MT of short grain milled glutinous rice for delivery from October 1 - December 31, 2016.

Export prices increased 3 to 5 percent due to strong enquiries for parboiled rice while domestic supplies are expected to be tighter.

After a record harvest last year in Turkey, grain stocks are full.
