Saudi MY 2017/18 wheat imports are projected at 3.7 million MT, an increase of about six percent compared to this marketing year. Saudi barley imports in MY 2017/2018 are projected at approximately 7.6 million MT, a sharp decline compared to 11.2 million MT imported in MY 2015/16. In MY 2015/16, the U.S. maintained its dominance of the Saudi corn market for the third consecutive year by exporting more than 1.5 million MT, or 43 percent, of total Saudi corn imports. Corn imports are projected at 4.3 million MT in MY 2017/18, an increase of 20 percent over MY 2015/16. Projected MY 2017/18 Saudi rice imports are five percent higher than the MY 2016/17 estimate, at 1.39 million MT.
