Saudi Arabia’s regulatory authorities continue to strictly enforce Saudi and GSO food import regulations and standards, particularly those related to allowable limits for food additives and labeling requirements. In June 2017, the first shipment of U.S. beef produced under USDA’s Export Verification (EV) Program arrived in the Kingdom. Import bans on poultry and poultry products from 15 U.S. states due to avian influenza (AI) were rescinded in August 2016.
