India: India's FSSAI Publishes Draft Amendments to the Food Products Standards and Food Additives Regulation

On May 25, 2022, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued Notification F. No. STD/FA/38/FSSAI, draft amendments to the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) (2011) regulation. FSSAI published the draft amendment in the Gazette of India (official gazette) on May 26, 2022, uploading the same to its website on May 31, 2022. On June30, 2022, India notified the draft amendment to the World Trade Organization (WTO) for comments (WTO Notification: G/SPS/N/IND/283). The comment period is open until August 29, 2022.
