The Ministry of Agriculture raised the Indian crop year (ICY) 2017/18 (July-June) grain production estimate to a record 284.8 million metric tons (MMT), which is about a 2 percent increase over the third advance estimate (May 2018), and 3.5 percent higher than last year’s record production (275.1 MT). Post’s MY2017/18 PSDs for rice, corn, millet, and sorghum, and MY2018/19 PSDs for wheat and barley have been revised to reflect the latest official estimates.
