India: Cotton Production Higher on Good Weather… Imports to Move Lower

Post revised the MY 2017/18 cotton production forecast to 29 million 480 lb. bales based upon prospects of a normal monsoon. Indian cotton prices have remained firm for most of the marketing year thus making exports of cotton and cotton yarn less competitive. Consumption is forecast relatively flat in MY 2017/18.
