FAS Abidjan, Accra (Post) forecasts Côte d’Ivoire’s market year (MY) 2025/2026 (August-July) cotton fiber production at 745,000 bales (480 pounds - lb.), up two percent from the MY 2024/2025 estimate of 730,000 bales. In MY 2024/2025, Ivorian cotton fiber production is estimated up 12 percent compared to the MY 2023/2024 season’s volume of 650,000 bales. Post observes growth resulting from improved farming practices and intensified pest control campaigns. Ivorian MY 2025/2026 cotton fiber exports are foreseen to reach 735,000 bales, up 1.5 percent from the MY 2024/2025 estimate of 725,000 bales. The Ivorian government financially supports the domestic cotton sector. Subsidies include support for purchase prices and the offsetting of agricultural input costs.
