China: Revised Draft Oilseed Species Standard Published for Comment

On January 4, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) published a revised “National Standard for Seed of Economic Crops - Part 2: Oil Species (Draft for Comments)." The revised draft standard pertains to seeds for sowing/planting and incorporates quality requirements for flax seeds for oil use, and modifies quality indicators for rapeseed hybrids, conventional sunflower seeds, and peanut seeds. This report provides an unofficial translation of the draft standard. Stakeholders should conduct their own review of the unofficial translation. The deadline for submitting public comments on the revised draft is March 5, 2024. Revisions to the draft standard have not been notified to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
