India’s peanut oilseed harvested area for marketing year (MY) 2025/26 is projected to reach 5.6 million hectares, a three percent increase, as farmers shift from cotton to peanuts due to better financial returns and timely rainfall.

Post raises its forecast for soybean meal imports in 2025/26, driven by stronger poultry demand and increased requirements from the expanding Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. Soybean consumption is also projected to recover in 2025/26 following contracted use related to weak household consumption in early 2025.

Post forecasts China's MY 25/26 soybean production at 19.9 MMT, while imports are projected at 106 MMT, down 1 MMT year-over-year as Beijing continues efforts to limit import growth. Rapeseed imports are projected to fall sharply to 3.1 MMT from 4.5 MMT following China's imposition of anti-dumping duties on Canadian canola in August 2025.

Kazakhstan’s dairy sector is still predominantly made up of small farms and limited processing capacity. However, the sector is gradually modernizing with the use of the latest technology and on-farm innovations, including the use of imported livestock genetics from the United States.
