India: FSSAI Invites Comments for Amendments to Alcoholic Beverages

On November 7, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) published a draft notification inviting comments on the draft Food Safety and Standards (Alcoholic Beverages) Amendment Regulations, 2025 relating to standards for special wine. The amendments introduce tolerance for sugar content in Brut wine, revised definitions of wine-based beverages, and mandatory labeling of a standard drink.
