The major highlights include a new Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) order that allows for the correction of all non-compliant labels on imported food consignments at the port-of-entry, FSSAI’s implementation of its mandatory registration of foreign food manufacturing facilities, FSSAI’s launch of a new portal, the Food Import Rejection Alert (FIRA), and, the Department of Consumer Affairs, Weights, and Measures Unit’s proposal to amend one of their legal metrology rules.
