U.S. hardwood lumber is moving into Northeast China. In April of 2016, ATO Shenyang nominated Dongxin Lumber of Shenyang to participate in a hardwood lumber buyer mission sponsored by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. The CEO visited a number of sawmills in North Carolina, and as a result, as of October 2017, Dongxin Lumber has imported over 80 containers of North Carolina Red Oak, White Oak, Black Walnut and Hickory hardwood lumber, valued at roughly $1.6 million.
