Angola is Africa’s fifth largest economy with oil production the main contributor to the economy. Although Angola has the resources to become one of the leading agricultural countries in Africa, it currently imports more than half of its food needs. The United States exported almost US$300 million worth of agricultural products to Angola in 2014. Poultry products represent almost 88 percent of United States’ agricultural exports to Angola and Angola is the United States' fifth largest market for poultry products in the world.
