• North Korea, coastal plain  - August 29, 2001.  Paddy rice (bright red) is intensively cultivated, with corn (orange) as a secondary crop.  Natural vegetation shown in shades of yellow and green, urban areas in white/gray.
  • Close-up, Pyongyang region.  Corn crop is maturing, harvesting has begun.
  • Close-up, intensive rice production along the coast.  Crop appears in good conditions

• East of Pyongyang - 6 July 01,  Taedong River.  Dry in May and early-June, good rainfall in late-June.
  • Close-up.   Some fields apparently unplanted or failed to germinate.  Rice crop looks good.
