The United States exported $666 million in food and agricultural products to Peru in fiscal year 2013, a 15.5 percent increase from the previous year. Top exports included wheat, cotton and dairy products.

The U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA) entered into force on February 1, 2009. Since 2010, USDA has helped to develop the capacityof Peruvian agricultural institutions to support PTPA implementation and facilitate U.S. agricultural exports through an agreement with the U.S. Agency for International Development.
