Costa Rica

U.S. exports of food and agricultural products to Costa Rica totaled $482 million in fiscal 2013. Rice and black beans are the only bulk commodities that Costa Rica produces, but production cannot fulfill domestic consumption needs and imports are required to meet demand. Costa Rica also imports wheat, yellow corn and soybeans for milling/crushing.

The United States works with Costa Rica both bilaterally and through the CAFTA-DR agreement to promote mutually beneficial trade and investment.
