U.S. exporters shipped $1.3 billion worth of food and agricultural products to Russia in fiscal year 2013. Russia is currently restricting U.S. pork, turkey and beef access by applying unjustified sanitary measures. Through accession to the World Trade Organization, Russia committed to bind all its tariffs, but it continues to use non-tariff measures to protect its domestic agricultural industry from competition.
