Areas of Interest
Olancho, Honduras | Leon and Chinandega, Nicaragua
Two areas are highlighted
on the Landsat mosaic image at left. These areas
were visited by FAS-PECAD personnel in early September,
2000 to see crop conditions first hand. The first
area studied was in the Departmento of Olancho located in
the interior of Honduras and identified by the larger box
in the upper center of the image. The second area
covers parts of the Departmentos of Leon and Chinandega,
Nicaragua close to the Pacific Coast and identified by
the smaller box in the lower left of the image.
