Friday Global Crop Condition Brief


The following series of graphics highlight notable weather and crop developments in key production areas. Featured countries/regions or topics this week are United States, China, and southern Africa.

United States - Southern Plains - soil moisture maps showing better conditions in October 2002 compared to October 2001.

Soil moisture levels are much better than last year for winter wheat germination and emergence in the Southern Plains.  Unfavorably dry conditions exist in western Texas, northwest Kansas, most of Nebraska, and parts of Colorado.
