Friday Global Crop Condition Brief
The following series of graphics highlight notable weather and crop developments in key production areas. Featured countries/regions or topics this week are United States, Hurricane Lili, China and Turkey.
Tropical storm Isidore brought much rain to the Delta and southeastern United
States, but it provided drought relief to the Ohio Valley, Appalachians and
Mid-Atlantic.
Hurricane Lili was downgraded to a tropical storm shortly after it made
landfall. Storm force winds damaged crops in Louisiana and the Delta.
Turkey's cotton production is at record levels due to increased area and better yields from irrigated cotton. The Ataturk Dam provides the water for irrigation in the Anatolia region.
