Canada:  Prairie Drought Slashes Production

Comparison of the images from 1999, a more normal year, and 2002 show that there is much less vegetation (shown in red) in the current growing season.  The dark streaks in the image from 2002 are cloud shadows.  

There is little vegetation because of drought.
