Landsat 7 TM Satellite Imagery - Vegetation Comparison 2002 and 2001

The wheat belt of southern Queensland, central and northern New South Wales have been most affected by the drought conditions.  In this mid-season comparison it is apparent that the 2002 season shows dramatically less vegetation in this normally productive agricultural area. These areas are historically productive wheat growing regions, The 2002 scene shows significant area has remained unplanted or very poorly developed this season.  Healthy vegetation is displayed as bright reds and orange tones.
