Friday Global Crop Condition Brief
The following series of graphics highlight notable weather and crop developments in key production areas. Featured countries/regions or topics this week are El Nino Potential Impact, and also information on the Former Soviet Union and the United States.
Rainfall across Russia's Central Region, the North Caucasus, and eastern Ukraine
provided favorable moisture for winter grain establishment.
The red line is for 2002. Note that through September 20, precipitation
improved upper surface soil moisture in these areas, favoring winter wheat
planting and emergence. It is noted though that little precipitation fell across
the western U.S. including these areas between September 21 - 26, 2002.
