Severe thunderstorms crossed eastern North Dakota on August 1.Damage occurred in Foster County, (over 90,000 acres) and in Steele, Cass, and Barnes counties, where a damage strip of more than 50,000 acres was observed. The accompanying hail caused widespread damage, which is was visible from both NOAA-16 and Landsat satellite images from early August.
