Landsat 7 TM Satellite Imagery - Vegetation Comparison 2002 and 2001

The wheat belt of southern Queensland and central and northern New South Wales are most affected by the drought conditions.  In this early season comparison it is apparent that the 2002 season shows dramatically less vegetation in this normally productive agricultural area. This area is northeast of Condobolin in central New South Wales, historically a productive wheat growing area has been significantly delayed or left unplanted this season.  Healthy vegetation is displayed as bright reds and orange tones.
