Column 1 (MGA) shows the limits on oilseeds area prescribed by the Blair House agreement. The MGA is reduced by arable crop set-aside or 10 percent whichever is greater and becomes the adjusted MGA (column 2). The main scheme is made up of larger producers where the farmers receive crop-specific payments for oilseeds. The simplified scheme is made up of small producers who, unlike prior to 2000/01, are now also receiving crop-specific payments for oilseeds. Hence, in 2000/01 it is the total oilseeds area (column 5) which is compared to adjusted MGA (column 2) to determine compliance.
