North Korea Rainfall Graphs
North Korea experienced another year of below-normal rainfall in 2000. The growing season started with timely pre-planting rainfall in April and early May, but the weather turned abnormally dry from June through early July. Some areas saw heavy rainfall during August and September which caused locally-serious flooding and crop losses. Mostly-dry weather in October was favorable for the 2000/01 summer crop harvest but it depleted soil moisture for 2001/02 winter wheat planting. [ Political Map]
