Vegetative indices from the SPOT-VEG satellite sensor indicate low yield potential in Chelyabinsk and Kurgan oblasts in Russia’s Ural District. These two oblasts account for nearly two-thirds of the district’s average annual wheat output of 2.8 million tons.
