|BACKGROUND:||Program notice MAP-98007 states only cooperative and small-sized U.S. companies as defined by the Small Business Association (SBA) may seek reimbursement for brand promotions. Excluding cooperatives, all small-sized companies must certify in writing that they meet the SBA size standards.|
|POLICY:||To ensure compliance with this policy,
each MAP participant will be responsible for verifying
the size certification of any company prior to approving
application and marketing plan. MAP participants will be
required to repay CCC if it has been determined that a
company received reimbursement based on incorrect size
certification. Attached is a sample certification

This company meets the Small Business Administration (SBA) size standards published at 13 CFR part 121. (This statement does not apply to agricultural cooperatives.)
This company owns the brand(s) of the agricultural commodity(s) being promoted or has the exclusive rights to such brand(s).
Any brand funding received will supplement, but not supplant, any applicant or foreign third party funds or any other contributions that would be used for company marketing and promotional activities.
This company shall contribute at least 50 percent of the total cost of the brand promotion.
All promoted products are at least 50% U.S. agricultural origin by weight, excluding added water and packaging, and meets the requirements for a food or agricultural commodity as set forth in the MAP regulations (7 CFR 1485.1 1).
