Background: Applicants requesting brand promotion funds for the 1998 MAP were permitted to include in their applications a single brand activity and corresponding budget per country because the specific information concerning individual brand activities was not available. Since company information is crucial to program administration, participants with approved brand activities are required to disperse the budgets and establish individual activities for each company conducting brand promotions in a given country.

  Action: Affected participants must notify their respective commodity divisions of these reallocations as soon as the information becomes available. Notifications must contain the following information: (1) brand activity number, (2) country, (3) company name, (4) product and (5) budget. Please note that due to the graduation requirement, we cannot accept regions for any brand activity. A market in which a product is promoted must be identified as a country.
