ISSUE: BACKGROUND: |
Are brand companies allowed to use MAP funds for expenses associated with trade shows or other activities conducted in the United States? Several companies have recently requested MAP funds to participate in U.S. trade shows. Others have submitted activity plans for their targeted markets and requested approval for a trade show without indicating that the show actually takes place in the United States. |
| POLICY: | For GENERIC promotion activities only, CCC will reimburse, in whole or in part, expenditures associated with trade shows, seminars and educational training conducted in the United States (Reference ' 1485.16(c)(25) of the final rule). CCC will not reimburse companies for brand expenditures associated with domestic trade shows or other types of domestic activities. | |
