Background: |
Among the changes brought about with the adoption of the Unified Export Strategy (UES) was the elimination of cost codes, adoption of cost categories, and the elimination of the requirement to identify contributions from foreign third parties. FMD program cost categories are limited to eight: trade promotion, technical assistance, contractor fees, international travel, STRE, shows, compensation and allowances, and rent and supply. Cooperator program guidelines still require each cooperator to submit End-Of-Year (EOY) contribution reports identifying all contributions (cash and goods & services) at the cost category level. |

As part of our continuing effort to reduce paperwork requirements, FAS is simplifying the format for the end-of-year contribution report will be accepted. Beginning with the FY1999 program, cooperators will report contributions using the aforementioned eight cost categories. In addition, cooperators are no longer required to identify the contributions from foreign third parties. Thus, the foreign third party column has also been eliminated. A sample format is attached to this notice. This notice also serves as a reminder that the 1998 End-of-Year reports are due on or before January 31, 1999.
