Other Fresh Horticultural Products

TREATMENT OF TARIFFS:

U.S. tariffs on many other fresh horticultural products are being phased out generally over 5 or 10 years. For some items, such as lettuce and brussels sprouts, the U.S. created new seasonal tariff lines. For other items, Mexico changed its tariff lines and duties to match ours. All products with a 5-year phaseout period became duty-free as of January 1, 1998.

The U.S. phaseout schedule for various other horticultural items is as follows:

TREATMENT OF QUANTITATIVE RESTRICTIONS:
