Sugar Monthly Import and Re-Export
Data Report Archives |
|
- The January WASDE report shows fiscal year (FY) 2013 WTO
raw sugar tariff-rate quota (TRQ) shortfalls projected at 265,000 short tons
raw value, same as last month.
- The Dominican Republic’s TRQ under the CAFTA/DR
agreement was established at 3,066 metric tons raw value for calendar year
2013 in the Federal Register notice on December 17, 2012. This announcement
did not result in a change in estimates of FY 2013 imports from the
Dominican Republic.
- On January 11, the third tranche of the fiscal year 2013
specialty sugar tariff-rate quota opened for 20,003 metric tons raw value. A
specialty sugar certificate valid must accompany the sugar imported.
- Beginning January 1, 2013, quantitative limits on sugar
items from Singapore are removed. Since under the United States-Singapore
Free Trade Agreement, items must be originating goods of Singapore, no
significant change in trade patterns is anticipated.

Diaby and Ron Lord. Questions, comments, and/or suggestions about this
