Processed Products and Technical Regulations Division (PPTRD)
Is the agency lead on agricultural technical barriers to trade (TBT)-related issues, developing and presenting insightful options on technical and policy aspects for consideration by Agency and Department officials.  PPTRD aggressively supports the development and expansion of foreign markets for U.S. agricultural products by identifying, analyzing and addressing processed product-related TBT and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) issues.  Working with a broad spectrum of regulatory and trade interests, international multi and bi-lateral fora, this arena encompasses trade, policy, technical and regulatory aspects as well as capacity building.  In the interagency efforts, PPTRD brings to the table a trade focus to technical and regulatory issues.

Introduction:
E-certification was highlighted at the 18^th Session of CCFICS. USDA and Codex Australia coordinated a special demonstration on official electronic certification systems from the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, the European Union, and the Netherlands.
