New Technologies and Production Methods Divison (NTPMD)
Responsible for coordinating activities in the area of new technnology related to trade in agricultural products. NTPMD serves as the primary FAS contact point for all biotechnology issues including development and implementation of U.S. regulations, market access issues, implementation of foreign regulations, WTO Committees, technical capacity building, and international organizations and agreements. NTPMD is also responsible for coordinating with appropriate officials in the Agency, Department, other agencies and the trade to formulate appropriate United States Government bilateral and multilateral trade policy responses to issues. It also represents FAS/USDA interests at various bilateral and multilateral meetings and bilateral trade consultations as appropriate.
