| SUMMARY: | Pursuant to the provisions of section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-463), notice is hereby given that the second meeting of the Advisory Committee on Emerging Markets will be held June 22, 1999. The role of the committee is to provide information and advice, based upon knowledge and expertise of the members, useful to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in implementing the Emerging Markets Program. The committee will also advise USDA on ways to increase the involvement of the U.S. private sector in cooperative work with emerging markets in food and rural business systems and review proposals submitted to the Program. |
