U.S. Exporter Assistance
Tourism Campaign in
Japan Offers Promotional Opportunities for U.S.
Agribusiness
This
summer, the FAS Office of Agricultural Affairs in Tokyo,
working closely with DOC (the U.S. Department of
Commerce), will launch a campaign to bring U.S.
agriculture, agri-tourism, and cuisine into the
spotlight in Japan. We encourage you to take advantage
of this opportunity.
The campaign will kick off in mid-July 2006 with public
relations events and advertisements that conjure up U.S.
images and locales familiar to the Japanese through
movies and television. The media blitz will direct
consumers to a Web site where they can check out
information for individual states with synopses of their
tourism opportunities, on which you can feature the food
and agriculture of your state and/or region.
Here’s
how:
-
Talk to
your state department of tourism to find out how you
can collaborate to promote local farmers markets,
restaurants, wineries, farm stays, and more.
-
Become a
sponsor for $5,000 for four months, or encourage your
local food and beverage industry to do so.
