Malaysia’s 2000, 2001 and 2002 beef imports rose across the board increases for all major meat categories. Low price imports of cara beef (water buffalo) from India dominate the beef market, capturing three-quarters of import volume. The United States is a distant fourth place supplier. U.S. beef exports to Malaysia reached $1.7 million in 2002.
