| Pictured above is a windbreak
at the Arbor Day Farm. The Poplar trees in the windbreak provide fuel
which produces all of the heat and electricity required for the Arbor
Day facilities.
National Arbor Day's Lied Conference Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska, is the only facility of its kind in the nation. It is heated and air-conditioned by burning wood that is grown on site. Growing trees for fuelwood is a job-creating technology that uses renewable resources and helps the environment. |
