TIP
conducts an array of technical assistance activities to promote U.S. trade and
investment in emerging markets.
Through the engagement of both the private and public sectors, TIP programs work to reduce institutional and technical barriers to trade, support the development of trade policies and regulations consistent with WTO, improve marketing infrastructure, and nurture the development of agribusiness linkages and networks.
TIP achieves its objectives through short- and medium-term technical assistance training programs. In FY 2002, TIP will pursue activities ranging from global projects, such as the Cold Chain Improvement Program, to targeted activities, as in Indonesia where a project is underway to assist with the development of transparent food labeling laws.
