Export Summary
 
U.S. exports of horticultural products to all countries in January totaled $769 million, a decrease of less than 1 percent from the same month a year earlier. Four of the 15 product categories registered value increases. Categories with the most significant increases in January were dehydrated vegetables (up $7.6 million or 36 percent) and fresh citrus (up $16.2 million or 30 percent). The categories with the most significant decreases were frozen fruit (down $2.8 million or 37 percent) and hops and products (down $4.2 million or 36 percent). For FY 2000 to date (October-January), the total value of U.S. horticultural exports was $3.5 billion, roughly equal to FY 1999 during the same period.
