U.S. exports of horticultural products to all countries in October totaled $924 million, down 8 percent from the same month a year earlier. Three out of the 15 categories registered increases. Categories with the most significant increases in October were hops and products (up $1.4 million or 33 percent) and miscellaneous products (up $35.9 million or 16 percent). The categories with the most significant decreases were fresh citrus (down $18.8 million or 45 percent) and tree nuts (down $65.6 million or 39 percent). The total value of complete fiscal year (FY) 1999 (October-September) U.S. horticultural exports was $10.3 billion, the same as FY 1998.
