U.S. exports of horticultural products to all countries in September totaled $842.03 million, up 8 percent from the same month a year earlier. Nine out of the 16 categories registered increases. Categories with the most significant increases in September were wine (up $17.9 million or 40 percent), fresh vegetables (up $14.5 million or 26 percent) and fruit/vegetable juices (up $9.5 million or 16 percent). The category with the most significant decrease was hops (down $1.3 million or 32 percent). For FY1999, the total value of U.S. horticultural exports was $10.3 billion - practically the same as FY1998.
