||
U.S. exports of horticultural products to all countries in August totaled $821 million, up 1 percent from the same month a year earlier. Seven out of the 15 categories registered increases. Categories with the most significant increases in August were fresh fruit, non-citrus (up $40.5 million or 34 percent) and fruit/vegetable juices (up $14.9 million or 26 percent). The category with the most significant decrease was fresh citrus (down $12.5 million or 57 percent). For FY 1999 to date (October-August), the total value of U.S. horticultural exports was $9.41 billion - 1 percent below FY 1998 during the same period.
