U.S. exports of
horticultural products to all countries in March totaled
$883 million, up less than 1 percent from the same month
a year earlier. Eight out of the 15 categories registered
increases. Categories with the most significant increases
in March were dried fruit (up $5.5 million or 17.3
percent) and non-citrus fresh fruit (up $8.5 million or
16.2 percent). The category with the most significant
decrease was fresh citrus (down $25.2 million or 23.8
percent). For FY 1999 to date (October - March), the
total value of U.S. horticultural exports was $5.2
billion less than 1 percent below FY 1998 during
the same time period.
