Export Summary
 

U.S. exports of horticultural products to all countries in November totaled $1 billion, an increase of 6 percent from the same month a year earlier. Categories with the most significant increases in November were fresh fruit (up 27 percent to $198 million) and tree nuts (up 10 percent to $137 million). The categories with the most significant decreases were wine and beer (down 15 percent to $57 million) and fruit/vegetable juices (down 18 percent to $49 million).

Exports to Malaysia were up 64 percent to $14 million, while exports to Hong Kong rose 54 percent, to $60 million. Exports to the EU were down 10 percent to $271 million while exports to Japan dropped 5 percent to $137 million. Other countries with major growth were: Venezuela, up 29 percent; Taiwan, up 20 percent; Singapore, up 18 percent; and Mexico, up 15 percent.

The Horticultural and Tropical Products Division has redesigned its homepage in order to bring the latest information to the public as efficiently as possible. The site now contains information on policy and technical developments affecting trade in horticultural commodities, as well as selected reports submitted by FAS overseas offices and special reports prepared by the division. The information will be updated every two weeks, with older news being archived. Other new features include updated commodity pages and U.S. trade data.
