International: Thai quotes are up $5 from last month to $326 per ton, FOB, on account of increased demand. Nominal quotes out of Vietnam are at $311 per ton, FOB and reflect tight supplies.

Domestic: U.S. #2/4 long grain milled rice quotes are down $11 from last month to $417 per ton, FOB. However, the spread between U.S. and Thai quotes is still $93, compared to $67 per ton this time last year. California medium grain #1/4 prices remain unchanged from last month at $535 per ton, FOB.

TRADE CHANGES FOR 2007

Selected Exporters

Pakistan is up 100,000 tons to 3.1 million tons in anticipation of stronger trade.

Thailand and Vietnam are both up 100,000 tons to 8.8 million tons and 5 million tons respectively as sales are expected to remain robust, supported by government policies that encourage exports.

Selected Importers

Colombia is up 100,000 tons to 200,000 tons due to an anticipated drop in production.

Iraq is up 100,000 tons to 1.3 million tons as strong demand is expected to carryover from the previous year.
