| Foreign Processor Requirements for Fish and Fish Products to be Exported to the United States -- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Regulations | |

When exporting fish and fishery products to the United States from other countries, foreign processors are required to comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) laws and regulations found in the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and the Code of Federal Regulations. Specifically, the processors in foreign countries must comply with all the elements of 21 CFR 123, which are the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations. If you are exporting fish or fish products to the United States you should become familiar with U.S. HACCP regulations. The FDA website has a wealth of information for foreign exporters and U.S. importers.
