U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEKENDING 6/25/2009

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 156,200 running bales were down 1 percent from the previous week, but up10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (66,700 RB), Turkey (53,400 RB), Taiwan (11,900 RB), Mexico (7,200 RB), Indonesia (6,600 RB, including 4,600 RB switched from unknown destinations), Singapore (5,900 RB), Thailand (5,000 RB), and Vietnam (4,900 RB).  Decreases were reported for Nicaragua (6,400 RB), Pakistan (2,200 RB), and Malaysia (1,100 RB).  Net sales of 82,500 RB for delivery in 2009/10 were mainly for Turkey (23,700 RB), Vietnam (10,900 RB), Thailand (10,500 RB), and China (9,900 RB).  Exports of 333,600 RB were up 21 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (71,300 RB), Turkey (54,200 RB), Mexico (44,600 RB), Pakistan (32,000 RB), Indonesia (25,400 RB), Vietnam (20,100 RB), India (16,600 RB), and Thailand (11,100 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 7,700 RB were up 35 percent from the previous week, but down 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were mainly for Hong Kong (2,000 RB), Japan (1,400 RB), South Korea (1,000 RB), and China (900 RB).  Net sales of 3,300 RB for delivery in 2009/10 were reported for South Korea (2,300 RB) and India (1,000 RB).  Exports of 12,500 RB--a marketing-year high--were mainly to Pakistan (4,900 RB), China (3,100 RB), and Hong Kong (2,300 RB).
